Hello, all! I’m Jensen.
I know that most of you don’t know me and I’m honestly not aware of how much this post will circulate. But I need help covering the cost of top surgery. The date is set for July 16th and the expenses way outweigh the money I have to offer myself.
This is my first time being transparent online about the hardships I’ve been facing when it comes to being a trans person. Now, I am here to break my own silence: I have been dealing with the psychological and physical implications of not having my body feel in alignment with what I feel like it truly needs to be. I’ve been binding my chest for over a year now and I have experienced a decrease in lung capacity. Even movement is super hard for me most days because I get out of breath much quicker and easier than I used to. Not only that, but the Depression and Anxiety and panic attacks that come out of not having my body feel like my own and the dysphoria that comes with that..is seriously and negatively impacting my ability to socialize, to perform well in college, to pay rent, etc.
That is why I am excited to announce that I have scheduled a date for top surgery, to appropriately address my needs and move forward with my transition process! This surgery is going to be life-affirming, life-changing, and, in many more ways than one, literally life-saving. The benefits to my well-being are the reason I am propelling myself to be open about the surgery in the first place. However, it is EXPENSIVE.

Please consider donating whatever spare funds you might have for the week or month. Top surgery is very expensive and I am especially relying on the kindness and love of others to help offset the costs. I am currently living off of student loans and they’re running out. I’m working as much as I can, but it’s not nearly enough.
There is no set amount required to donate. Any and all amounts are incredibly appreciated. My goal is $12,000 and my surgery is set for mid-July. That may seem like a hefty lump sum (and it absolutely is; it’s ridiculous), but if just 750 people donated a minimum of $16, then I will have reached my goal!

Also, PSA For people saying that $1 is not enough of an amount, please don’t do that! I’m requesting any amounts that folks can offer– if $1 is all you can swing, I am so grateful.
